Club Objectives
The objects of the Society are:
(a) To become and remain registered with the Guild.
(b) To further the interests of enrolled students.
(c) To assist new students with orientation to the University.
(d) To encourage and promote cooperation between the Society and other Student societies.
(e) To do all things that are necessary and proper for the benefit and advancement of the Society and the Guild.
(f) The Curtin Film Society provides opportunities for Screen Arts students to network and express their filmic creativity, primarily through collaboration on audio-visual projects (short films, documentaries, web-series, promotional content, etc.). We also host social events and educational workshops, open to the wider student, staff, alumni & industry community. The CFS helps Screen Arts students to develop their skillsets and gain experience through industry-standard filmmaking practice (focus areas include producing, directing, camera, sound, lighting, editing, production design, dramaturgy & writing). We hope to create a community built on principles of teamwork, professionalism and creative expression.
Note: No alteration, addition or amendment of the objectives outlined on this page shall be made without prior approval from the Curtin Student Guild in accordance with club governance policies.
